Add VNC Server exceptions to your firewall

Mac OS X 10.7.4 / 10.8

If VNC Server is not added as an exception to your firewall settings during install, you will need to add it manually.  To do so, go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options.  Click on the plus ('+') sign, add VNC Server.app and the VNC Server process.  Ensure "Allow incoming connections" is selected and "Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections" is checked.

Mac OS X 10.6.8

If VNC Server is not added as an exception to your firewall settings during install, you will need to add it manually.  To do so, go to System Preferences > Security > Firewall > Advanced.  Click on the plus ('+') sign, add VNC Server.  Ensure "Allow incoming conections" is selected and "Automatically allow signed-software to receive incoming connections" is checked.

For VNC 5.0.x, the server process is called "vncserver".
