Does VNC log information for auditing purposes?

Yes, VNC logs the following:
  • The time and originating IP address of all connection attempts
  • The user name of the connecting user, if platform native authentication is being used
  • The time of all disconnections
  • Error messages
On Windows, VNC logs this to the built-in Windows Application Event Log.
On OSX, VNC logs to the console log
On Linux/Unix, VNC logs to various locations based on usage type.
