I cannot send a Ctrl-Alt-Delete combination to my Windows 7 computer, through VNC

Versions 4.5.3 and above, of VNC Enterprise/Personal Edition will work with Windows 7, however there is a default system policy in Windows 7 that prevents system services from sending ctrl-alt-del (Secure Attention Sequence, "SAS").

There are two ways to solve this, set the group policy to allow services to simulate SAS, or by registering the VNC service with SimulateSAS=2

Either:

1.) Check that the "Disable or enable software Secure Attention Sequence" policy is set to "Services" on the VNC Server PC. (Please see related article)

Or:

2.) If you're unable to change this domain policy, you will need to register the VNC Service with a particular parameter.

You need to specify "SimulateSAS=2" on the command line when you register the VNC service.

On the VNC Server machine, go to the directory where VNC is installed, and run:

WinVNC4.exe -unregister
WinVNC4.exe -register -SimulateSAS=2

You only need to do that once, as Windows remembers the parameters the service was registered with.
